Promoting women's hockey in the Comox Valley
Comox Valley Glacier Kings Junior A Hockey Club

The Comox Valley Glacier Kings are a Junior A hockey club competing in the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League. They recently moved up from Junior B to Junior A status as of the 2023-24 season through BC Hockey’s new developmental pathway, and they’re working toward Junior A Tier 1 classification, which would let them compete for the Centennial Cup, Canada’s Junior A National Championship.
The organization has been around for 30 years, celebrating their anniversary in 2023. Beyond the competitive season, they run hockey camps, spring development teams, and summer showcase tournaments for developing players. The focus is on growing homegrown talent from BC and Yukon, with minimum roster requirements for local players.
One practical detail: the Glacier Kings rely on billet families to house players during the season, offering a $700 monthly stipend per player. If you’ve got space and an interest in junior hockey, that’s a way to get involved. It’s a community-based junior hockey program with ambitions to compete at higher levels while keeping roots in developing local talent.
