Rainbow Youth Theatre

Rainbow Youth Theatre has been producing family-oriented theatre in the Comox Valley since 1988, giving young performers a chance to build skills in creativity, confidence, and stagecraft. They put on full-scale musicals and plays with youth cast members working alongside community directors, musical directors, and choreographers. If your kid is into theatre or you want them to try it, this is the local organization doing youth productions.
The theatre runs on a combination of volunteer energy and community support. Volunteers work behind the scenes on costumes, props, sets, and front-of-house roles, and they’re always looking for more hands. They also actively recruit creative professionals (directors, musical directors, choreographers) through their Production Pitch program to help bring new shows to the stage. Auditions for their 2026 season launch in spring, so sign up for their newsletter if you want to stay in the loop about performance opportunities.
Beyond productions, Rainbow Youth Theatre offers bursaries to participants pursuing post-secondary education in the arts. If you want to support their work, they welcome donations and program advertising from local businesses. Check their website for volunteer opportunities and upcoming show announcements.
