United Riders of Cumberland

United Riders of Cumberland (UROC) is a registered non-profit that manages and maintains the world-class mountain bike trail network in Cumberland and the surrounding area. They handle trail building, maintenance, and grooming, working on landowner agreements established a decade ago with major stakeholders like Mosaic Forest Management and Manulife Investment Management. The trails are built on the unceded traditional territory of K’ómoks people, and UROC coordinates access and stewardship for one of the region’s most popular outdoor recreation assets.
Beyond trail work, UROC runs community programs including after-school bike clubs for kids, women’s rides, and organized races and group rides throughout the year. They coordinate volunteer trail maintenance days with corporate and community partners, so if you want to give back to the trails you ride, there are regular opportunities to help out. Trail advocacy, fundraising, and promoting the sport are all part of what the organization does to keep Cumberland’s reputation as a mountain biking destination strong.
Membership fees support trail access and ongoing maintenance. UROC has platinum sponsors including local bike shops and Mt. Washington, plus a broader network of community supporters. If you ride in Cumberland or want to get involved in trail stewardship, check their website at unitedridersofcumberland.com for membership details, volunteer days, events, and current trail conditions. It’s a community-powered organization keeping the trails rideable and accessible year-round.
