Comox Airport

Comox Valley Airport (YQQ) is located on Knight Road in Comox and serves as the main air gateway to the Valley and northern Vancouver Island. The airport offers daily non-stop flights to Vancouver, Calgary, and Edmonton, and recently added a Kelowna route through Pacific Coastal Airlines, which has been operating at YQQ for 25 years.
The terminal includes the usual amenities like rental car facilities, parking options, and ground transportation services, but also some less typical features: a YQQ Art Collection with rotating exhibitions (recent shows include “Thresholds”), stained glass window installations, and an e-bike sharing partnership with Evolve for sustainable local transportation. Real-time flight tracking is available for arrivals and departures, and they offer CANPASS customs services for eligible travelers. Accessibility programs are in place for passengers who need additional support.
Beyond being a transportation hub, the airport is involved in community initiatives including sponsorships, job fairs, and awareness campaigns like the #NotInMyCity human trafficking prevention partnership. The facility is run by a board of directors and operates as a government organization. If you’re flying into or out of the Valley, YQQ is your local option—named after F/O C. Cottingham and serving the community as a connector to major Canadian hubs and a growing number of regional destinations.
