Comox Valley Chamber of Commerce

The Comox Valley Chamber of Commerce is a professional, membership-based business organization located at 576 England Avenue in Courtenay. Their mission centers on “CONNECTIONS. RESOURCES. ADVOCACY,” representing local business interests to government, promoting member businesses, building functional community networks, and developing resources for business growth.

The chamber provides practical business support including small business startup guidance, Certificate of Origin services for international trade, group health insurance plans for members, and a business hub with networking and resources. They run funded training programs in specialized areas like AI in Aquaculture and for insurance professionals, and coordinate economic development initiatives including the Rural Business Initiative and Municipal Business Initiative. Members get listed in the member directory, receive advocacy representation at regional and provincial levels, and gain access to marketing and promotional opportunities.

Networking and events are a big part of what the chamber does. They organize regular Business After Business sessions, ribbon cutting ceremonies for new member businesses, the annual Chamber Awards gala, lunch-and-learn sessions on topics like living wages, and social fundraising events like the Ugly Sweater Soiree. The chamber also actively engages in policy advocacy, recently supporting resolutions at the BC Chamber AGM and addressing community issues affecting local businesses.
