Comox Valley Family Services Association

The Comox Valley Family Services Association has been supporting families in the Valley since 1974. They run multiple programs focused on building family strengths and supporting healthy development, from early years support through to crisis intervention.
Their programs cover a wide range of needs: the Healthy Families Program provides early years outreach and support for families with young children. The Family Development Program works on strengthening relationships within families. They also operate the Community Based Victims Services Program, which offers emotional, practical, and court support for victims of crime and their families. The Sexual Abuse Intervention Program (SAIP) provides counseling for children and youth who’ve experienced sexual abuse, and they run a Creating Calm anxiety support group for young people. They also facilitate collaborative planning meetings to coordinate care across service areas.
The organization is a non-profit governed by a volunteer board and holds CARF accreditation. They’re located on Cliffe Avenue in Courtenay and receive support from various community partners including Doctors of BC and local foundations. If you need family support services or know someone who does, you can reach them at 250-338-7575 to learn about programs and availability.
