Health & Support

Comox Valley Healthcare Foundation

The Comox Valley Healthcare Foundation has been funding healthcare improvements in the region since 1993. They’re a registered charity that raises money to purchase medical equipment, fund healthcare programs and research, support patient education, and provide comfort resources across hospital, community, and long-term care settings. Essentially, they fill the gaps between what public healthcare funding covers and what local facilities actually need.

Their current strategic priority is diagnostic advancement, particularly medical imaging. Recent accomplishments include funding new state-of-the-art mammography units for Vancouver Island facilities. The work spans everything from high-tech diagnostic equipment to patient education initiatives and research programs that improve care quality locally.

The foundation is governed by a volunteer board and run by a small professional staff team. They work in partnership with healthcare leadership and community donors to identify priorities and fund improvements. If you want to support local healthcare, they offer multiple ways to get involved: direct donations, fundraising events, personal fundraising campaigns, or volunteer opportunities. The foundation serves the thousands of residents and visitors who access healthcare in the Comox Valley, making tangible improvements to what’s available locally.
