Courtenay Options for Sexual Health Clinic

The Courtenay Options for Sexual Health Clinic provides confidential, nonjudgmental sexual and reproductive health care for people of all ages, genders, and orientations. They describe their approach as youth-friendly, pro-choice, and sex-positive, creating a welcoming environment for anyone seeking these services. The clinic operates Tuesday evenings from 5pm to 8pm at the Comox Valley Health Unit, accepting drop-ins for most services.

Services include free birth control for BC residents with MSP coverage, STI testing and treatment, Pap screening, pregnancy testing and options counselling, and Nexplanon insertion and removal. Nexplanon services require appointments and happen after 7pm. The clinic also offers telehealth appointments as an alternative to in-person visits. No referral is necessary, the clinic welcomes both new and returning clients directly.

Services are free for clients with valid BC MSP coverage. Those without MSP may face charges, and the clinic doesn’t accept cash payments, only electronic transfers. If you need sexual or reproductive health care and want a clinic that prioritizes confidentiality and respect, this is the local option.
